Jab Harry Met Sejal Movie Review: There Is Nothing Worth Talking About

Jab Harry Met Sejal Movie Review

'Jab Harry Met Sejal Movie Review'

Jab Harry Met Sejal is all about Harinder Singh aka Harry (Shah Rukh Khan), Sejal Jhaveri (Anushka Sharma) and her lost ring. Now Harry is a tour guide in Amsterdam, who is frustration guide, while Sejal is one of his clients who stays behind her tour group to find her lost engagement ring.

On one hand, Harry does not believe in relationships, is cynical and is into one night stands and has been frequently in and out of relationships, while on the other, Sejal is a talkative Gujarati girl, who is conservative believes in having a family. Sejal’s immaturity attracts Harry, who, then and there, decides to be her protector.

Well, both then decide to go on a tour and what follows is what you we all have seen in almost all of Imtiaz Ali’s films. Good locations, love triangle of sorts. loads of songs and finally a happy ending.

The first half of the film is still bearable, but the second half is worse than a third degree torture. Most of the scenes and dialogues are a rehash of Imtiaz Ali’s past films, with situations that force fit a song.

To make matters worse, there is a hideous angle involving Chandan Roy Sanyal and his gang of unfunny migrants. Also, the music of the film, but Pritam, in one of the many weaklings.

Jab Harry Met Sejal Poster

As far as performances are concerned, well, Shah Rukh Khan gets our hopes high in the beginning, but falls flat as he is saddled by a poorly written part. Anushka Sharma, on the other hand, is a professional sleepwalker as Sejal. She is completely clueless abiut what she is in the entire film.

I did expect a lot from Jab Harry Met Sejal as Shah Rukh Khan was on his home turf, which is romance, but this one just left me totally devastated.

All in all, Jab Harry Met Sejal is Imtiaz Ali’s version of Socha Na Tha (2005) meets Jab We Met (2007), meets Love Aaj Kal (2009).

Avoid meeting this one because I could not find what I was seeking, and I am sure that you all would return empty handed.
